Android wants to sync your calendar with Google by default, and DAVx5 is the app that points it at your own server instead. It syncs CalDAV and CardDAV data, meaning calendars, contacts and tasks, and it gives access to WebDAV files through Android's Storage Access Framework. It is GPLv3 software from bitfire, it works with self-hosted servers and has automatic configuration for easier setup, so it is a natural partner for Radicale or Baïkal.
DAVx5 scores a 5 on lock-in, a 4 on footprint, power, longevity and delivery and a 3 on self-direction.
The project asks you to donate or buy the app to support it, and the repository does not give prices for either store, so we state none. It does one job and needs a server to talk to, so on its own it does nothing, and Self-direction is a 3.
- Syncs calendars, contacts and tasks with a server you choose
- GPLv3, and supported by donations or purchases
- Needs a server to be useful

This badge reports a dated review. It is not a certification and it costs nothing. Link it to this page and leave the numbers alone: the image always shows the current score.
For dark backgrounds, use davx5-dark.svg in place of davx5-light.svg.
For comparison, we also reviewed Google Calendar (16/30) as a benchmark.
