LibreTranslate is a translation service you run on your own server, with a web page for people and an API for programs, powered by the open-source Argos Translate engine. The project says it is entirely self-hosted, offline capable and does not rely on proprietary software from Google or Azure. The code is AGPL-3.0, and the repository ships Docker and Kubernetes files, so installing it is a known job for anyone who hosts things.
LibreTranslate scores a 5 on lock-in, a 4 on power and a 3 on footprint, self-direction, longevity and delivery.
The README gives no language count, no prices for the hosted site and no statement on funding, and it names no individual maintainers. Translation quality depends on the Argos models, and we have not compared it with Google's, so Delivery is a 3.

This badge reports a dated review. It is not a certification and it costs nothing. Link it to this page and leave the numbers alone: the image always shows the current score.

For comparison, we also reviewed Google Translate (17/30) as a benchmark.
