Mojeek is a small UK company that crawls the web itself instead of borrowing results from Google or Bing, and says it does not track searches. That gives you a different view of the web.
Mojeek scores a 4 on lock-in, self-direction and longevity, a 3 on footprint and delivery and a 2 on power.
Its index is much smaller than Google's, so rare queries return less, and the code is closed. Its claims come from the company and we have not audited them.
