Draw Things puts the image studio on a phone. The App Store listing says it can run 100 percent offline, with prompts and images staying on the device, and it handles text to image, inpainting, outpainting, ControlNet and on-device LoRA training. You can import community-made models and LoRAs, so you are not tied to a single model.
Draw Things scores a 4 on footprint, self-direction and delivery and a 3 on lock-in, power and longevity.
The model code and samplers are public under GPL-3.0, but the app is built from a private repository, and it runs on Apple hardware only. The app is free with optional purchases for a paid tier and cloud compute boosts, and the listing says it collects purchase history, user content and an identifier for app functionality.
- Runs fully offline on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with on-device LoRA training
- Imports community models, so you are not locked to one
- Engine code is GPL-3.0, but the app itself is built from a private repository

This badge reports a dated review. It is not a certification and it costs nothing. Link it to this page and leave the numbers alone: the image always shows the current score.
For dark backgrounds, use draw-things-dark.svg in place of draw-things-light.svg.
For comparison, we also reviewed Adobe Firefly (15/30) and Midjourney (14/30) as a benchmark.
